Before order, primeval forces raged across the void. Gods of the void warred for supremacy over millennia. Failing to dominate one another, the primeval force of law (Iras) bound the gods in shackles of perpetual time. Iras ordered the gods to duel for power. Each god was to bestow their powers into a creation. A Familiar. The gods were permitted to charge their Familiars with raw emotions as they saw fit.
The winner of this duel would be given the ultimate prize, control over the others and creation itself. Thus the game had begun and the Familiars were born, endlessly torn to battle over the cosmos until one has risen above all others.
